Andrea Visagie
Occupational Therapist
Born and raised in Cape Town, Andrea graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2018, obtaining a BSc in Human Life Sciences. She obtained her BSc in Occupational Therapy in 2022 from the University of the Western Cape.
In 2023, she completed her community service year in rural Mpumalanga. During her community service year, she was fortunate enough to spend half of the year in the mental healthcare unit & the other half in physical rehabilitation. The time spent working in the mental healthcare unit, solidified Andrea’s passion for mental health. Andrea has received training through OTGrow in order to facilitate psychosocial groups based on the Interactive Group Model.
She has a keen interest in group therapy, specifically pertaining to adolescents and young adults. She is a passionate and hardworking occupational therapist, who believes her gentle and quiet nature sets her apart and helps build healthy interpersonal relationships with clients. This enables her to foster an environment in which clients can strive towards reaching their goals and highest level of function.
In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time in nature and loves wildlife. She is registered with the Field Guides Association of South Africa and is currently gaining other non-professional qualifications through the organisation.
